Dr. Susan Franklin is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in Mind-Body approaches with a private practice in Bremerton, WA. She knew at an early age that she was meant to teach and be a catalyst in helping people heal. Her personal healing journey began with music and led her to complete a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from Central College in Pella, Iowa.
After graduation, life offered a unique opportunity which she seized by enlisting in the U. S. Navy music program. She spent 11 years as a trumpet instrumentalist while stationed in Chicago; Naples, Italy; and Seattle. In addition to performing, Susan supervised personnel in music and administrative duties and taught at several Department of Defense school music camps. Her duties also included organizing more than 200 performances throughout Europe and performing in over 2000 events that included U.S. and foreign heads of state and other dignitaries.
Yearning to dive more deeply into her own personal work and facilitate others in their journeys, Dr. Franklin left the Navy in 1998 and pursued masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the Washington School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University – Seattle. She became licensed as a psychologist in 2006 after completing one year of internship and a 1-year post-doctoral residency.
Dr. Franklin also has extensive training and experience with mindfulness meditation, energy healing techniques, and currently in Comprehensive Energy Psychology. She holds the Reiki Master Teacher degree and completed a 2 1/2 year mentoring program with Marie Manuchehri RN. Energy Psychology is the leading edge in the larger field of clinical psychology.
Her professional experience includes: the Washington State women’s prison; community mental health in Washington, Missouri & Arkansas; the University of Washington-Tacoma student counseling center; and private practice in Arkansas and Washington.
Dr. Franklin taught as adjunct faculty at City University and Forest Institute of Professional Psychology at the masters and doctoral levels. She has presented at the Washington State Psychological Association and American Psychological Association conferences.
Dr. Franklin presents her interactive workshops and training retreats in psychology, holistic wellness, spiritual development, and personal effectiveness throughout the U.S. Most recently she presented at Everett Community College, Cascadia Community College, East West Bookshop-Seattle, Women of Wisdom Conference, and through her local community.
Not your typical psychologist, Dr. Franklin synthesizes contemporary psychology and ancient healing modalities to empower clients in creating an exquisite life.
