Energy Psychology, Reiki & Energy Medicine for People & Pets

I am a Reiki Master and have studied and use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique often known as tapping) as well as skills and knowledge drawn from training in Eden Energy Medicine.

I do not do energy work with every client. If you are interested in exploring or experiencing energy work, please let me know. Many people, including myself, experience energy work as a very deep way of shifting and healing. I also find that the energy work is a powerful adjunct to traditional psychotherapy or talk therapy.

Everything is made of energy. Quantum physics has shown us that at the subatomic level there is mostly space with particles or waves (depending on how it’s measured) of energy darting in and out of existence. The solidity of our bodies and material world is an illusion.

What we see, hear, feel, and think are also energy. When our energy becomes stagnant, blocked, or over/under energized we have symptoms that may be physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. At a basic level, we are in an out-of-balance energy state.

Science is now able to record a few of the subtle energy systems of the human body such as chakras, the aura, and meridians. How exciting is that?

Donna Eden has identified 9 subtle energy systems. While science is learning how to measure these energy systems, they are not new. Subtle energy healing methods have been part of every culture throughout human history.

In fact, it is really a modern western phenomena that we have disregarded such healing over the last 100+ years. Fortunately, there have always been traditional healers and the importance of such healing work is rising again in our consciousness. Modern medical advances are mind-blowing and they are often not enough for full healing and wellness.

There are many ways to activate, balance, and healing unhealthy energy patterns and habits. Examples of energy healing modalities are Reiki, Energy Medicine (various forms), Emotional Freedom Technique, Thought Field Therapy, acupuncture, affirmations, Reichian therapy, yoga, mindfulness meditation, and Healing Touch only to name a very few.

One of the most exciting things about energy work is that you can learn to do it on your own body! You can learn to heal yourself. A great learning tool is the book “Intuitive Self-Healing” by Marie Manuchehri, R.N. Marie’s book provides beautiful stories about how a gifted intuitive healer helps people heal themselves. It also provides information about the chakra and aura systems as well as exercises for learning how to sense, activate, and heal those.

Donna Eden’s books on Energy Medicine are also exceptional resources of learning about and healing your own energy body, mind, and spirit.

Energy Work for Animals

Reiki is NOT a substitute for sound veterinary diagnosis and treatment.

Reiki is a very gentle and amazing energy healing method that compliments traditional veterinary medicine. Reiki translates as “universal life energy” and is an approach that originated in Japan. It is offered as an alternative treatment in some of the most respected hospitals and cancer treatment centers in the country. Reiki has mainly been used for human healing, but we are finding that Reiki can be a powerful healing tool for many animals. I used Reiki with my old dog and currently do with my 2 cats. They seem to really soak it up.

How can Reiki help your pet?

1. Reiki is healing energy and will never harm you or your pet.

2. Can help any type of animal.

3. Can help release & heal emotional problems due to traumas such as abuse, neglect, or being hit by a car

4. Can help pets relax & reduce the stress/anxiety that causes behavioral issues such as nervousness or hyperactivity

5. Can help your pet heal more quickly from illness or injury

6. Great compliment to traditional treatments for a pet is facing serious illness

7. If your beloved pet is dying, Reiki can help bring peace and comfort to you and your pet during this difficult time. It can help them relax and ease their transition.
